C. Business Card Scanner Information

When a user uses the AI Business Card Scanner, information appearing on a business card may be uploaded, processed, extracted, and converted into digital contact information. This may include a person's name, company, job title, phone number, email address, business address, website, and other information appearing on the business card.

eConnect uses OpenAI technology to support the AI Business Card Scanner. Business card images and/or information contained on the card may be transmitted to OpenAI for processing so that business contact information can be extracted and returned to eConnect. OpenAI acts as a technology service provider in connection with this functionality. eConnect stores resulting contact information on its dedicated server infrastructure in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Automated processing may produce incorrect or incomplete information. Users are responsible for reviewing extracted information before relying on, exporting, contacting, or otherwise using it.

D. Imported or Synced Contacts

If you choose to import, upload, or synchronize contacts and provide the necessary permissions, we may process information contained in those contacts, such as names, phone numbers, email addresses, and other contact information. We do not access device contacts unless the applicable feature is used and the necessary permissions are provided.

E. Enterprise Information

Organizations using eConnect Business Suite Enterprise features may provide information concerning their employees, agents, contractors, members, or other authorized users, including names, business contact information, job titles, departments, photographs, organization affiliations, digital business card information, branding information, account status, and other information required to administer Enterprise accounts. The organization providing this information is responsible for having the appropriate authority to provide and manage it.

F. User Content

We may process content users choose to create, upload, save, or manage through eConnect, including digital business cards, notes, lead information, contact records, business card images, custom fields, logos, photographs, Professional Email Signature information, branding materials, and other user-generated content.

G. Transaction and Subscription Information

If you purchase a subscription or paid service, information associated with the transaction may be processed by eConnect and/or the applicable payment processor, Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or other payment provider. This may include subscription plan, transaction date, payment status, renewal status, billing-related information, and transaction identifiers. Payment card information may be processed directly by the applicable payment provider rather than stored by eConnect.

H. Information Collected Automatically

When you access or use the Services, certain information may be collected automatically, such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, app version, date and time of access, pages or features accessed, app interactions, usage information, diagnostic information, and crash reports. We may use this information to operate, secure, analyze, troubleshoot, and improve eConnect Business Suite.

I. Location Information

If an eConnect feature requires location information and you grant the applicable permission, we may process location information for that feature. You may manage location permissions through your device or browser settings. We do not collect precise location information unless the applicable feature requires it and appropriate permission has been provided.

J. Information From Third Parties

We may receive information from third-party services when you choose to connect or interact with those services through eConnect. These may include Apple, Google, payment providers, email providers, CRM platforms, digital wallet providers, and other integrations selected by the user. Information received depends on the integration, permissions granted, and the third party's policies.

3. Lead Forms and Information Submitted by Leads

eConnect Business Suite allows users to create customized Lead Forms to collect information from prospects, customers, networking contacts, and other individuals.

The information requested through a Lead Form is determined in part by the eConnect user who creates or customizes the form. Depending on the form, information collected may include a person's name, email address, phone number, company, job title, business interests, responses to customized questions, and other information voluntarily submitted.

Information submitted through a Lead Form is made available to the eConnect user or organization associated with that form so the user or organization can manage the connection and follow up.

eConnect may also use information collected through Lead Forms for eConnect's own marketing and promotional communications where permitted by applicable law and subject to any required notice, consent, or opt-out rights.

eConnect does not sell Lead Form information for monetary compensation or provide Lead Form information to third parties for those third parties' independent marketing purposes. eConnect may disclose or process Lead Form information through service providers when reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain, or support the Services.

Submitting a Lead Form does not automatically constitute consent to receive marketing SMS messages, automated calls, or other communications where separate consent is required by law.

eConnect users are independently responsible for complying with applicable privacy, marketing, communications, and data protection requirements when collecting and using information about prospects, customers, networking contacts, employees, or other individuals.

4. How We Disclose Information

eConnect does not sell personal information for monetary compensation. We may disclose information in the following circumstances:

At Your Direction

Information may be disclosed when you intentionally share it, such as when you share your Digital Business Card or direct eConnect to transfer information to another service.

With the User or Organization Collecting Information

If you submit information through another user's Lead Form or an organization-controlled eConnect feature, that information may be provided to that user or organization.

Service Providers

We may disclose information to vendors and service providers that help us operate eConnect Business Suite, including providers of cloud or infrastructure services, email delivery, SMS delivery, analytics, authentication, customer support, payment processing, security, AI or automated processing, and other technology services. These providers may process information as necessary to provide services to eConnect and subject to applicable agreements and law.

Enterprise Organizations

Where an account is provided or managed by an employer, brokerage, association, company, or other Enterprise organization, authorized administrators may have access to certain account and profile information associated with that organization. The exact information available depends on the Enterprise features being used.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, regulation, court order, subpoena, or legal process; respond to lawful government requests; protect the rights, safety, property, or security of eConnect, our users, or others; or investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our Terms.

Business Transactions

Information may be transferred in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.

5. Sale, Sharing, and Marketing Use of Personal Information

eConnect does not sell personal information for monetary compensation and does not provide Lead Form information to third parties for those third parties' independent marketing purposes.

eConnect may use personal information, including information collected through Lead Forms, for eConnect's own marketing as described in this Privacy Policy, where permitted by applicable law.

Privacy laws in some jurisdictions may define "sale," "sharing," "targeted advertising," or similar terms more broadly than a traditional sale for money. If eConnect engages in activities that fall within those definitions, eConnect will provide disclosures and choices required by applicable law.

6. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies

Our websites and Services may use cookies, software development kits, pixels, local storage, analytics tools, and similar technologies to keep Services functioning, remember preferences, understand how Services are used, measure performance, diagnose problems, improve functionality, maintain security, and measure marketing effectiveness where applicable.

Where required by law, users will be provided appropriate notice or choices concerning non-essential technologies.

7. AI and Automated Processing

Certain eConnect Business Suite features may use artificial intelligence, optical character recognition, machine learning, or other automated technologies.

eConnect uses OpenAI technology for the AI Business Card Scanner. When a user uses this feature, a business card image and/or information appearing on the card may be transmitted to OpenAI for processing and extraction of business contact information.

OpenAI is used as a technology service provider for this functionality. Information returned from the scanning process may be stored on eConnect's dedicated server infrastructure and used to provide the Services.

Automated processing may produce incorrect or incomplete information. Users should review extracted information before relying upon it.

eConnect will handle information processed through AI-enabled features according to this Privacy Policy and applicable service-provider agreements.

8. Data Storage and Hosting

Information collected and maintained by eConnect Business Suite is primarily stored on dedicated server infrastructure used by eConnect.

eConnect uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse.

Certain information may be transmitted to authorized service providers when necessary to provide specific functionality, such as AI business card processing, payment processing, email delivery, SMS delivery, authentication, analytics, or other Services.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and eConnect cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. CRM and Third-Party Integrations

eConnect Business Suite may allow users to transfer selected contact or lead information to third-party CRM systems or other business applications selected by the user.

Information transferred may include basic contact information such as name, email address, phone number, company, job title, and other information supported by the applicable integration.

Information is transferred at the direction of the user. Once information has been transferred to a third-party platform, that platform's privacy policy, security practices, and terms govern its subsequent processing.

eConnect does not control how a third-party CRM or other external service processes information after the user transfers it to that service.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, maintain accounts, complete transactions, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, maintain security, and enforce agreements.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, account status, legal requirements, and the purpose for which the information was collected.

Information may remain temporarily in backups after deletion until those backups are overwritten or deleted according to our normal retention processes.

11. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. These measures may include access controls, authentication, encryption where appropriate, monitoring, and secure infrastructure.

However, no internet transmission, application, database, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users are also responsible for protecting access to their accounts, devices, email accounts, and authentication methods.

12. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal information. These may include the right to:

  • Request access to personal information.

  • Request correction of inaccurate information.

  • Request deletion.

  • Obtain information about how personal information is processed.

  • Receive a portable copy of certain information.

  • Opt out of certain uses of information where applicable.

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

These rights are subject to applicable law and certain exceptions. We may need to verify your identity before processing a privacy request.

13. Account Deletion

Users may request deletion of their eConnect account using available account functionality or by contacting eConnect.

Deleting an account may result in the deletion or deactivation of information associated with that account, subject to legal retention requirements, fraud prevention, security requirements, billing and transaction records, dispute resolution, backup retention, Enterprise account obligations, and other legitimate purposes permitted by law.

14. Information Controlled by Another eConnect User

If your information was collected through another person's or organization's eConnect Lead Form, contact system, Enterprise account, or similar feature, that user or organization may independently control its use of your information.

Requests concerning how that business uses your information may therefore need to be directed to that business. Where eConnect independently controls the applicable information, including eConnect's own marketing use where applicable, privacy requests may be submitted directly to eConnect.

15. Marketing Communications

eConnect may use personal information to send information about eConnect products, features, services, educational resources, promotions, and other offerings where permitted by applicable law.

You may opt out of eConnect marketing emails by using the unsubscribe mechanism provided in the message.

Opting out of marketing communications does not prevent us from sending necessary transactional or service-related communications, including account, authentication, security, billing, and support messages.

16. SMS Communications

Where you separately provide appropriate consent to receive SMS communications from eConnect, message frequency may vary and message and data rates may apply. Where supported, reply STOP to opt out, HELP for assistance, and START to opt back in.

Consent to receive marketing SMS communications is not a condition of purchasing eConnect Business Suite where prohibited by law.

Agreeing to these Terms or this Privacy Policy alone does not constitute consent to receive marketing SMS communications where separate consent is required by applicable law.

17. Third-Party Services and Links

eConnect Business Suite may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, applications, and services. Those third parties operate under their own privacy policies and terms.

eConnect is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services. We encourage users to review the privacy policies of services they choose to access or connect.

18. Enterprise Accounts

If an organization provides or manages your eConnect account, that organization may control certain aspects of your account and may have access to certain information associated with it.

Depending on the Enterprise configuration, authorized administrators may be able to create or manage profiles, manage organization branding, confirm organizational affiliation, add or remove authorized users, access certain account or usage information, and manage features made available through the organization's account.

Users should contact their organization regarding questions about how the organization independently uses their information.

19. Children's Privacy

eConnect Business Suite is intended primarily for business and professional use.

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without appropriate authorization where required.

If we learn that personal information from a child was collected in violation of applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to delete or otherwise address the information.

20. International Users

If individuals access eConnect Business Suite from outside the United States, their information may be processed or stored in the United States or other countries where eConnect or its service providers operate.

Those countries may have data protection laws different from those in the individual's country. Where required, eConnect will use appropriate mechanisms for international transfers of personal information.

21. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as eConnect Business Suite, our business practices, technologies, or legal obligations change.

When material changes are made, we may provide notice through the Services, website, email, or another appropriate method.

The effective date at the top of this Privacy Policy indicates when the current version became effective.
